Sometimes, using a control system as the manufacturer
has built it isn't exactly right for your
application. Or you have two pieces of equipment
that use different protocols to communicate. Or,
using a fully blown control system for a simple
application may be overkill. Let us take a look at
the problem, and see if we can custom design a solution.
Some of the custom design products we have available are:
IR to Leviton Scene Controller
This system will receive an IR command from the user's
programmable remote
and transmit a Leviton Scene command to Leviton's HCM,
HCS, HXM, and HXS series of dimmers and switches.
(The "green line" series). Ideal for
elegantly setting the lighting level in a home theatre.
X10 to UPB converters
Model XU1-1W This unit allows control
panels that can only transmit X10 commands to control
UPB lighting devices. It is designed to
replace the PSC04/PL513 X10 Powerline Interface.
It receives X10
commands from the panel, translates them to equivalent UPB commands and passes them on to a UPB Powerline
Interface (Simply Automated UMC-DB9-W or
equivalent). It
is a transmit only device. It cannot receive X10
or UPB commands from the powerline.
It can translate the standard X10 "On", "Off", "All
Lights On", All Units Off", "Bright" and "Dim" commands.
(Within limits. There are no UPB equivalents for
some X10 commands, so some compromises had to be made.)
Note: The entire lighting system must be UPB
devices. Because this device replaces the
PSC04/PL513, the control panel will no longer be able to transmit to
X10 devices. This unit CANNOT share the X10 port
on the control panel with an X10 Powerline Interface
(via a splitter).
Coming Soon! A bi-directional version that will
replace the PSC05/TW523.
Model XU2-2W (Currently in development)
This unit is designed to replace a PSC05/TW523 X10
Powerline Interface.
It will receive X10 commands from the panel,
translate them to equivalent UPB commands and pass them
on to a UPB Powerline Interface. It will also listen for UPB "Direct"
commands from the powerline, and will translate those
back into an X10 equivalent. It can translate the
standard X10 "On", "Off", "All Lights On", All Units
Off", "Bright" and "Dim" commands, as well as the
regular X10 "Preset Dim1" and "Preset Dim2" commands.
Note: The entire lighting system must be UPB
devices. Because this device replaces the
PSC05/TW523, you will no longer be able to transmit to
X10 devices. This unit CANNOT share the X10 port
on the main panel with an X10 Powerline Interface
(via a splitter).
